Day 1

On the road by 8 AM, picking up muffins at Café Chew in Sandwich.  The drive to Glastonbury was an easy one; the traffic was light and the foliage was beautiful.

We arrived at Nick’s around 11:15 just in time to join Jack , Nick, and Abbi (the dog) for a walk.

Jack kept us entertained until Alex and Alice arrived.  They were going to spend one night with Nick before heading north to Vermont to visit friends.

We left Nick around 2 pm, and drove to our final destination of the day, the home of our great friends Bill & Rosemary Carlough, in Pleasantville, NY,

We spent the evening condemning Trump, reminiscing, laughing, drinking wine, and finishing with a wonderful  dinner of steak au poivre.  The steak was photo worthy, but I was too hungry to pause and take a pic.

  1. Congratulations on being on the road again!! I'm sure seeing your family and friends is great. I just love the pictures of Jack. He is so, so cute. I've been going through some of my photos and I ran across a picture of your dad when he was a baby. Jack looks just like him! I love your goal of eating crab everyday. The first time we went to Maine, my goal was to eat lobster everyday. Enjoy Beach Haven. I've got to get back there one of these days! Safe travels.

    1. Hi Leanne, Always great to hear from you. I can never get enough of Beach Haven. It has changed so much, but it's still worth visiting.

  2. I am crazy about the close-up of Jack. He looks like he is the happiest little guy ever! Although the foliage is gorgeous and I am happy for you to be on the road again, everything pales next to Jack! (As it should.)
